Understanding Content Types

Web pages in our CMS are primarily composed of two content types: static and dynamic elements. Understanding the characteristics and management of these elements is crucial for effective website administration.

Static Content Elements

Static content elements are characterized by their relatively stable nature. These are components that do not require frequent updates and are typically managed directly through the Page Editor (located under "Manage Pages").

Examples of Static Content Include:

  • Page body copy
  • Headings
  • Featured images
  • Paragraph text

Dynamic Content Elements

Dynamic content elements are more fluid and complex, designed to accommodate more frequent changes and interactive features. These elements require a more sophisticated approach to management.

Characteristics of Dynamic Content:

  • Regular update requirements
  • Unique design features
  • User input capabilities
  • Need for cross-page consistency

Module-Based Management

In our epicPlatform, dynamic content is managed programmatically through Modules. These Modules provide a structured approach to handling complex, changeable content across your website.

Module Capabilities:

  • News feeds
  • Event listings
  • Interactive forms
  • Navigation menus
  • Homepage icon blocks
